Joshua R. Minot is a research scientist at Sociotechnical Signals. His areas of expertise are in social network analysis, natural language processing, data mining, and time series analysis. He has conducted research in a variety of domains including quantitative social science, emissions monitoring, and agricultural technology. Much of his work shares a common objective in inferring human behavior through noisy data.

Previously, Joshua co-founded a company that developed IoT solutions for small-scale farms. He is currently a PhD student at the University of Vermont, where he also obtained an MS in Complex Systems and Data Science. Before attending the University of Vermont, Joshua received a BA from Hampshire College where he studied agricultural engineering and agribusiness.
